The paradox of a resource-rich but economically poor Africa has always bothered me. Having grown up in Nigeria, I have always felt the need to find a way to change the situation.
Unfortunately, in Nigeria, poverty is even more widespread than ever. On a typical day on the streets of Lagos, the sight of young people and children hawking in traffic tugs at one’s heart. The rise in crime, cult activities, and gang wars is even more frightening.
Of great concern is also the quality of graduates passing out of our schools as the educational system has degenerated. It, therefore, became pertinent to take action and help change the story. I believe the youth and children are our future and if we can engage them positively, equip them with current and futuristic skills such as coding and tech skills, we would be investing in the future of Nigeria and Africa at large.
